One of the most obvious things that needs sorting on the cab is the control panel overlay, I managed to find a repro but with jobs like these preparation is 9/10ths of the job. Firstly strip it down.

It was a mission getting the old overlay off, as it was old and brittle most of it came away fairly easily but it left behind a lot of glue that I used lots of WD40, solvents and scraping to get off.

Finally got it cleaned up, I was also cleaning up a metal bar that holds the glass bezel in place. Both had rust on them so I went over them with a wire wheel and some acidic rust killer.

Then some paint to seal it in

Then apply the overlay, I used the soapy water method of applying it so it can be moved around a bit but still pretty nerve wracking to get it all lined up. TBH the replacement overlay was a bit on the thick side and very difficult to get it to fold around the edges so many clips to hold it on.

Had a rummage through the box of buttons and found the best five I had to replace the scratched up ones that were on the cab. The leaf switches were fine so just reused them. All looking nice an shiny.
