The AR board is the next link in the chain from the power brick, as the name suggests it provides two functions.
- Regulator – takes the unregulated DC from the brick and provides +5VDC and other voltages needed for the PCB
- Audio – contains the sound amp
This was all working ok so there wasn’t any repairs to do here, but I gave it a bit of a refresh, some new caps and a replacement 2N3055 NPN power transistor.
Back in the cab, all working fine. I added one of those little LED voltmeters so I can keep an eye on the 5V line at a glance.
Next up cosmetics and PCBS…
